Alexa Aviles

Alexa Aviles is a Mexican woman and passionate advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, bringing a youthful and dynamic perspective to EmpowerHer Diversity Hub (EHDH). She is committed to creating inclusive and supportive spaces for diverse individuals, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.

As a Board Member, Alexa plays a key role in shaping board decisions and strategic initiatives. She actively participates in meetings, offering insightful contributions and advocating for the representation of LGBTQ+ perspectives in all aspects of the organization’s work. Through her engagement, she helps bridge the gap between the community and decision-makers, fostering an environment of inclusivity and equity.

Beyond her role on the board, Alexa has also demonstrated her dedication to empowerment and safety through her work with the EHDH’s DiverseStrength Self-Defense Program. As an assistant self-defense instructor, she was one of the five instructors present at the event, providing hands-on guidance and support to young women in London. Her involvement in this initiative reflects her commitment to helping individuals—particularly those from marginalized communities—develop confidence, resilience, and the ability to protect themselves in challenging situations.

Through her leadership and advocacy, Alexa continues to make a meaningful impact within EmpowerHer Diversity Hub, ensuring that LGBTQ+ voices are included in decision-making processes while actively contributing to initiatives that promote safety, empowerment, and inclusivity for all.
