Temitope Josephine Soewu
Temitope Josephine Soewu is a seasoned foreign-trained legal and administrative professional with over 17 years of experience in law, restorative justice, mediation, and public advocacy. Passionate about social justice and equitable legal practices, she has dedicated her career to empowering marginalized communities through her legal expertise and volunteer initiatives.
She holds an Advanced Communication for Professionals Certificate from Fanshawe College, Canada, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Lagos, and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria. She is also a certified mediator and facilitator of restorative justice processes.
Throughout her career, Temitope has served in various key roles, including as a Public Prosecutor for the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, where she handled criminal cases, legal research, and policy advocacy. She has also mediated family and tenancy disputes, advocated for prison reform, and provided pro bono legal support to inmates.
Beyond her legal work, Temitope is a dedicated community leader and nonprofit advocate. She is the Head of Legal Services for the New Leaf Foundation, providing legal guidance and leading advocacy workshops for incarcerated individuals. Additionally, as the Vice President of the Pacesetters Club of Osooro, Nigeria, she has driven community development initiatives.
She is a proud member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, and the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA).
